My top 10 movies for the year of 2007
Good luck Chuck is all about the comedy. It's so funny that at some parts you just can't stop laughing. Jessica Alba was as always VERY VERY HOT! What if there was a guy who could help you find your true love and all you had to do was sleep with him? Thats what good luck chuck is all about.
Synopsis: A serial dater afflicted with a lifelong curse of loneliness attempts to win the love of a clumsy-but-beautiful penguin expert in the one romantic comedy that proves true love never comes easy. As a ten year-old boy, Charlie (Dane Cook) broke the cardinal rule of spin-the-bottle by refusing to kiss a demented Goth girl. Crushed by the disheartening snub and determined to ensure that Charlie never finds true love, the vengeful brooder places a hex on the cowardly rule breaker that follows him well into his adult life. Flash forward twenty years and Charlie is a successful dentist who just can't seem to maintain a stable relationship. Sure he's had his fair share of one-night stands, but these days Charlie is just looking to find a nice girl he can settle down with. One day, while attending an ex-girlfriend's wedding, Charlie realizes that every girl he has ever dated has proceeded to find true love with the very next man they met. When word gets out that Charlie is something of a lucky charm for women looking to tie the knot, every women within a 100 mile radius comes calling for a one night stand; and while taking a bevy of beauties to bed is fun for the time being, it doesn't take long for Charlie to realize just how empty sex can be without true love. Upon meeting hard-to-get aquatic bird specialist Cam (Jessica Alba), Charlie begins to suspect that he has found the woman of his dreams. Cam is the kind of woman whom Charlie would be happy to grow old with, but what will come of their relationship if Charlie and Cam sleep together? Now, in order to ensure that Cam doesn't end up with the next guy she meets, Charlie will finally attempt to break the curse that has plagued him since childhood. Perhaps with a little help from smooth talking ladies' man and sympathetic best friend Stu (Dan Fogler), Charlie will finally be able to experience true happiness. Click here to read more.
Top 4-SHANGHAI KISS
Hayden Panettiere was very good in this film. The story was also very good. Its a Chinese-American film and I really like it because it reflects myself. Well, I'm not American Chinese but I am Bruneian/Malaysian Chinese and thats almost the same because we are Chinese NOT living in China. Funny and smart all at the same time.
Synopsis: A struggling Los Angeles actor who has never fully grasped his Chinese roots takes an eye-opening journey to Shanghai after inheriting his grandmother's home in this romantic comedy starring X-Men: The Last Stand's Ken Leung and Heroes's cheerleader Hayden Panettiere. Liam (Leung) is an aspiring Hollywood star who spends the majority of time picking up bar girls with his best friend Joe -- a starving writer who has yet to pen a proper screenplay. While Liam does share an innocent relationship with precocious 16-year-old Adelaide (Panettiere), she often comes off as more mature than he and the age difference between the pair is far too glaring to ignore. Upon receiving notice that he has inherited his grandmother's home in Shanghai, Liam throws caution to the wind and purchases an airplane ticket. Shortly after landing in China, Liam becomes smitten with beautiful local Micky (Kelly Hu) and gradually learns to embrace his Eastern roots. But it's difficult to exist comfortably between two cultures -- much less two women -- and before long Liam finds that in connecting with the past, he is simultaneously laying the groundwork for his future. This is one of the most touching story of the year. It makes you laugh and cry at the same time. Its a movie full of meaning and life. The actors and actresses are wonderful. I think everyone should watch it. Its definately a worth watching film.
Synopsis: Filmmaker Michael O. Sajbel explores the relationship between wealth and happiness with this spiritual-minded tale about a privileged young man who receives a most unexpected inheritance. Adapted from the best-selling book by author Jim Stovall, The Ultimate Gift opens as trust-fund baby Jason Stevens (Drew Fuller) prepares to receive a sizable inheritance from his late grandfather Red (James Garner). Though Jason is convinced that the money is about to come flowing in, he receives a sudden shock upon discovering that Red has instead decided to offer him something much more valuable than simple cash. Realizing that his spoiled grandson has lived a sheltered life in which he has always been handed the very best of everything, Red has devised a crash course in living comprised of 12 gifts that will challenge the arrogant young man in ways that he could never have imagined nor anticipated. In the weeks that follow, Jason will befriend a terminally ill child (Abigail Breslin) and her grief-stricken mother (Ali Hillis) while attempting to determine whether it is money or happiness that truly matters in life. Brian Dennehy and Lee Meriwether co-star in an uplifting drama from the director of The Ride and One Night with the King. Click here to read more.
Every little girls dream is to be a princess and live happily ever with prince charming in the castle. If that is still your dream then you really should take some time and watch this film. I thought it was a very smart film because of the mix of the happily ever after world with the real world. The actress Amy Adams, was simply stunning and she was very real. Just like how a princess from another world would be.
Synopsis: Classic Disney animation meets contemporary urban chaos when a frightened princess is banished from her magical animated homeland to modern-day New York City in a romantic comedy penned by Bill Kelly (Blast from the Past), directed by Kevin Lima (Tarzan), and featuring music by composer Alan Menken and lyricist Stephen Schwartz. Princess Giselle (Amy Adams) lives in the blissful cartoon world of Andalasia, where magical beings frolic freely and musical interludes punctuate every interaction. Though Princess Giselle is currently engaged to be married to the handsome Prince Edward (James Marsden), her fate takes a turn for the worse when the villainous Queen Narissa (Susan Sarandon) banishes her to the unforgiving metropolis of New York City. As the cruelty of the big city soon begins to wear down the fairy-tale exterior of the once carefree princess, the frightened Giselle soon finds herself falling for a friendly but flawed divorce lawyer (Patrick Dempsey) whose kind compassion has helped her to survive in this strange and dangerous new world. Top 7- RATATOUILLE
A rat talking show, who would be interested? Well, I really enjoyed it and I thought it was worth watching in a cinema. Its about a rat who's very into cooking and stuff. Its also very real, in the sense that the rat can only communicate with his own kind but not with the humans and vice versa. BEWARE YOU WILL FEEL VERY HUNGRY WATCHING THIS SHOW, eventhough its animation based but it looks super real especially the food.
Synopsis: A rat named Remy dreams of becoming a great chef despite his family's wishes and the obvious problem of being a rat in a decidedly rodent-phobic profession. When fate places Remy in the city of Paris, he finds himself ideally situated beneath a restaurant made famous by his culinary hero, Auguste Gusteau. Despite the apparent dangers of being an unwanted visitor in the kitchen at one of Paris' most exclusive restaurants, Remy forms an unlikely partnership with Linguini, the garbage boy, who inadvertently discovers Remy's amazing talents. They strike a deal, ultimately setting into motion a hilarious and exciting chain of extraordinary events that turns the culinary world of Paris upside down. Remy finds himself torn between following his dreams or returning forever to his previous existence as a rat. He learns the truth about friendship, family and having no choice but to be who he really is, a rat who wants to be a chef. Click here to read more.
Top 9- ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS
Only chipmunks who can talk are cute. HAHA i think most of you would agree with me. This movie is hillarious and guranteed alot of laughter along the way. If you are into music, singing chipmunks would be okay for you. They have wonderful voice well i mean style of singing. The chipmunks are on a whole new adventure with fame and family.
Synopsis: Alvin, Simon, and Theodore are back in director Tim Hill's computer-animation/live-action hybrid following the further adventures of the world's most adorable singing trio. Songwriter Dave Seville (Jason Lee) has been struggling to gain recognition in the music industry for some time, and despite the fact that his former college roommate (David Cross) is now a high-profile powerbroker at Jett Records, Dave still can't manage to get a break. Things soon start to look up, however, when Dave discovers three singing chipmunks hiding out in the branches of a Christmas tree in Jett Records' world headquarters. Realizing that these woodland crooners cold prove to be his ticket to the big time, Dave does his best to transform Alvin (Justin Long), Simon (Matthew Gray Gubler), and Theodore (Jesse McCartney) into the next great pop sensation. As adorable and talented as they may be though, these bouncy little critters aren't quite domesticated just yet; they still have a wild streak in them a mile wide, and it isn't long before Dave's life, home, and career are in utter chaos. But staying mad at such lovable little creatures is next to impossible, no matter what kind of mischief they might get into. Click here to read more.
Top 10- DISTURBIA
How would you feel if your neigbhbour was a serial killer. This movie is exciting and you never know whats going to happen next. It makes you aware of the film and your surrounding. This is one of my favourite thriller of the year.
Synopsis: Salton Sea director D.J. Caruso travels from the shore to the suburbs for this suspenseful tale of a high-school senior who suspects that his neighbor is a notorious serial killer. Kale (Shia LaBeouf) is a high-school senior who has yet to come to terms with the fact that his father is gone, the tragic victim of a fatal accident. As Kale's mother (Carrie-Anne Moss) struggles to pay the bills by picking up extra shifts at work, her son's behavior grows increasingly erratic. When an altercation at school finds Kale placed under court-ordered house arrest, the homebound student teams with newly arrived girl-next-door Ashley (Sarah Roemer) to investigate the suspicious neighbor (David Morse) whom Kale believes to be an elusive and wanted serial killer. Their attentions focused intensely on the man they believe to be a murderous maniac hiding in broad daylight, Kale and Ashley trespass down a dangerous path while attempting to discern whether his suspicions are grounded in fact or just a combination of deep depression and suffocating cabin fever. TAIWANESE TEEN DRAMAS:
Did you know that 98% of Taiwanese teen dramas have happy ending?
Okay, let me break it down to you.
A girl meets a guy (do know it can be vice versa) accidentally. They don't see eye to eye on anything at all. They fight alot, become friends and fight even more. Its either one have a partner or someone has a crush on one of them and they are so in love with another. After that, something happen and they become single so they start falling for each other but they still fight alot but the "falling for each other" part becomes more obvious (one will always be looking after another). In between, a new "perfect" guy or girl comes in the way and they become jealous. But then, at the end, at the very end, they either get married or you know, get together and become happy.
- There's always ONE perfect episode in between (where the guy and the girl spend their time together and is happy).
- The LAST episode, towards the end always have something like, "5 years later" or etc.
KOREAN DRAMAS
Did you know that 9 on a scale of 10 korean dramas someone will definately die?
A guy meets a girl. At first they dont like each other but as they spend more time together, they fall head over heels for each other. There's always one other perfect candidate trying to steal them away from each other. And then towards the end one finds out one has a sickness and distant themselves from their love one. Then the other one does not give up on the love and one day the sick one faints in the arms of the other and the other find out bout the sickness and they spend their last days together and then the one will DIE.- At least one person would have a deadly sickness (sometimes it gets cured, alot of times it doesnt).
- In the first few episodes, they will always show the childhood of the main character.
And then all the audience in front of the television WILL CRY! So people who watches numerous Korean dramas, did you know you're crying at the same thing! Its all the SAME...
A definate is that there is always one thats rich and the other that is not.
Am i right?
P.s Thats why im so reluctant to start on any taiwanese or korean drama. They are so Cliche! I like it better when i dont know whats going to happen.
Everyday, happy hour
and then there's my other best friend Sarah Ong! HAHA I have to speak with her in Mandarin because she's gonna start Mandarin class next year. Good Luck! haha Oh, as you can see below I still love playing with her camera. I guessed nothing have changed in THAT category.

And I'm going to degree
Like what abby said, people do think we are stupid and thats why we're taking media(I have had a few encounters). Since the beginning i thought thats a whole load of bullcrap. Just because we don't do Maths and Accounts that does not mean we are stupid. We are smart enough to do what we like and thats handling cameras and running around interviewing people, plus its fun.
I finally got to see my results, i can bet that i did better than most people (thats not doing media and made fun of us, the media people before). We're smart with words, thats what we are(not everyone is smart enough to take media). I can proudly said that I shockingly got 4 Distinctions and 2 Credits. Ha! All the hard work actually got me through. Studied hard and then you'll get to play hard.
Kudos to everybody. Now i can have a more blessed holiday!
I made my mama proud.
And i'm going to degree but i aint taking media in degree (i know, sad to say. I really liked media).

Mix that drink!
I am gonna learn how to make a few good cocktails from him so i can make good cocktails in the future. Ahhhh, how awesome? Tonight, is the start.. now whats happening in the kitchen is:
- Boiling all the tools-Cleanliness is top!
- Making of the syrup
- Making of the Lemon juice
And the bartender for the evening have gone to get more supplies (Yes, i'm smiling!). Oh, and he is also showing off about how he's a graduate and etc. IF you must know, NO he did not take bartendering as a major. HAHA people always get confuse when i tell them my brother is a bartender. He's following my mom's footsteps, he's a hotel person! HAHA
So, wondering what I have been doing during the holidays? Er, Sleep, Eat, Online, Hang out! To be more specific:
- I have been sleeping late and waking up late as usual.
- Planning hanging hours with different friends at different times.
- Watching alot alot of TV shows, like Gossip Girl, Chuck, Smallville, Heroes, How i met your mother, Greys' anatomy and etc.
- Catching up with the different friends.
- Eating a hell. Well, not that much. I still Eat to live OKAY? Not, Live to eat!
- Using my wireless to the advantage.
Have you heard? The Grey's Anatomy writers are on strike, due to the low pay or whatever. So the last episode of the season is episode 10, for now. There won't be a 11 unless the producers pay the writers a little bit more. I suggest they pay them a little bit more or else there are going to be angry fans, LIKE ME!
Thankfully, i have the other TV shows to keep me occupy. Oh! Im starting on LOST again. I was indeed VERY LOST when i stopped halfway of Season 3. I know you guys DONT like words, but i have no pictures yet. Nothing interesting happen just the same ol' hang outs..
11 more days till i go for my Christmas and New year's holiday and 6 days till my results come out. I can't wait! Then, i will know for sure where i'm getting into. In a way, im very scared of my results but I must have confidence. I HAVE CONFIDENCE, i think!
Been over at Tracy's since yesterday when she got back and then this afternoon as well. I was suppose to go out with AbbyK for ice cream BUT her mama says she shouldn't eat too much ice cream and its raining and her mama doesnt want me to drive. DAMN THE RAIN! It have been raining everynight since forever. I super HATE RAINS.
Oh, what did my mom get me? PERFUME WAS ON SALE! What did you think she got me? HAHA Use your imaginations.
Cheers.

Everybody loves rhymes, and suprises.
Everything happens for a reason, i think.
and,
Aaarghh, i have been so stressed out since the day my mom told me to consider going to Brisbane instead. Its not a bad thing, but i really want to go to Melbourne.
Well, application problems. The condition of going to Monash is i must sit for an Ielts test and score 6.0 and i must change the offer to a real offer as well as accept the offer by 31st Jan.
Bad news is the next Ielts test in Brunei isn't until the 26th of Jan. There's no good news behind this bad news. I really wish there was but up to this point, THERE ISNT ANY GOOD NEWS.
I have asked the application lady to try ask Monash whether i can extend the offer or something because if you have noticed i really really want to go to Melbourne. Everyone is there, everyone closest to my heart is there.
Please God, make it happen.
(if i'm really meant to go, i know He can make it happen)
Pfft, so much for learning how to be "independent". At the end of the day, i always mess things up!
