OUR ALMOST TWELVE YEARS OF FRIENDSHIP!

Sarah and I are both in the same class in Sunday school ever since we were 4 years old. At 4 years old, now that I think about it, its like I was never 4 years old before because I cannot remember anything that happened or who I met that year.

When I was 5 years old, my mum has a dinner party at Sarah’s house, so she brought me along. I still remember her exact words, “we’re going to Uncle Stephen’s house” as a kid who does not know anything “who’s that?” I actually did not want to go because my brother was not going (yes, I stick to him like peanut butter and jelly) and she said, “you know your Sunday school friend, Sarah’s father”. For a kid who never have any friend at that young age, when your mum mentions the word “friend” not just anyone’s friend but “your friend”. I got all excited thinking wow I have a friend even though I couldn’t remember how she look like(even though I saw her every Sunday) I actually thought I knew her very well, just that I don’t remember about it.

When I reached her house, aunty siew yong asked me to go upstairs to look for Sarah. Being unfamiliar to the house, since it was my first of the first time, I went up and didn’t really know my way. Of course common sense go in to the first room you see (well, my common sense) the first room I saw back then was Rachel and Sarah’s room but mainly Rachel’s and the first person I saw RACHEL! I still remember that scary look she had put on her face. She was like, “who are you?” or was it “what are you doing up here?” I was being as daring as I ever could and I asked “er, I’m looking for Sarah?” and she points to the piano/ play room. Then I heard Rachel kinda shounting-ish saying, “Bring your friend” or something like that. I was so afraid

Before I left the “party”, aunty siew yong said that I could come over and sleepover anytime I wanted just give a call. The first time I ever sleep over someone’s house will be theirs. From then on we’ll be sleeping over each other’s house every single week and we would play tent every single time. If it was over at my place, my brother will play with us and if its over and sarah’s house, Tristan will be playing with us and only sometimes Rachel would join in. As kids, we love role-playing, we would always play doctor or camping or children abandoned by parents. I KNOW VERY DRAMATIC!!

As we grew older we obviously stopped playing tent, at one stage we actually try making our own celebrity magazines or try writing a song lyrics and sing to it. Sometimes we would just be video gaming, and the video gaming session will turn real haha. There was once we pretended we were having a concert. Hide and seek in the dark the most common game that we would play.

For the past two years, before she left I started sleeping over lesser and lesser I can say we kinda grew apart even though I do still see her every week but this year we grew closer or maybe even closer again. Thanks! To the sleeping over many nights in a row. We manage to talk about last time and what we will do in the future and the most random stuff ever. Even though most of the time we spent our eyes in front of the computer in the same room we manage to show each other random funny stuff on you tube. She’s a great movie partner and she’s going to be my future traveling partner.

In their house, time seems to be all later than usual, like lunch time is at one, dinner time is at 830 and sleeping time at 12. Odd timing don’t you think? But I kinda prefer this timing to my house timing. In their house, everyone is always together in the “together” room while in my house we’re each at our own part of the house like me I spend more time in my room than in the living room. That’s why I enjoy staying there.

Basically we’re the most opposite people that can be ever put together but its fate that we met 11 or maybe 12 years ago and stay friends up to now. Its so suprising that such opposite people share so much in common, interest wise like we like photography, babies and etc etc. If I were to meet her 5 years ago i don’t think we would be THIS close friends. Now I am not just close friends with sarah but also Rachel, the mama and etc. I’m so happy!

P.S- Rachel’s not scary anymore in fact she’s a fun to be with and crazy person who’s just so crazyyyy!!!!! I hearts her to bits, like a sister I never had!

This is the summarize version of what Sarah and I do when we hang out since 5 and also this post is dedicated to her. =)

P.P.S- The pictures are not related to the story they're just there to entertain you so it dont look so LONG!!! tehehehehe... and the computer is sarah's HOT SPOT in the housee =)

Backpack in Europe

Q #1: When do I want to backpack Europe?

This is an important decision, because if you plan to backpack Europe during high-season-June, July and August- then you will want to start looking for airfare as far ahead as possible. The further in advance you look the greater chance you have of getting a good fare. If you are backpacking Europe during high-season you should spend a little more time doing some planning as finding a bed in a European hostel can be tough during this time of the year.

Q #2: How long will I backpack Europe?

You will need to know this so you can decide on how much money you will need for the duration of your trip.
A good daily average to consider for food and lodging is about $75-100 per day. You can keep eating expenses down by buying food at a supermarket and lodging expenses down by taking overnight trains, such as the Artesia Night which has night travel between France and Italy . This daily average of course does not include pre-trip expenses such as airfare, toiletries, youth hostel membership, passport, passport photos, Eurail Pass and other necessities.
Deciding how long you will backpack Europe will also help you decide on which type of Eurail Pass you should purchase. There are several different Eurail passes. You can choose consecutive day travel Eurail passes or flexible travel day passes, also know as Eurail Flexipass. Eurail Youth Passes are discounted for travelers under 26. The classic Eurail Youth Pass covers 17 countries, has both the consecutive day travel Eurail Pass and Eurail Flexipass options. The Eurail Select Youth allows you to choose 3, 4 or 5 countries that are connected by land or by sea and gives you the choice of 5 to 15 travel days over a 2 month period. Choose from over 20 country choices of the Eurail Pass network.

Q #3: Which countries do I want to visit?

This will help you narrow down which type of Eurail pass you will need. If you want to see it all the classic Eurail Youth Pass covers all 17 countries of The Eurail network. The Eurail Select Youth allows you to choose 3, 4 or 5 countries of the Eurail Pass network that are connected by land or by sea and gives you the choice of 5 to 15 travel days over a 2 month period. If you are looking for rail travel in a specific region, or just one country Eurail also offers Regional Youth Passes and Single Country Youth Passes (go to the appropriate page and check the prices marked YOUTH).

Q #4: How am I going to get around?

Public transportation systems in Europe are very good. When you arrive at a subway or bus station inquire about a daily, weekly and monthly discounted tickets available for public transportation. You can use your Eurail pass on some suburban trains like the S-bahn in Germany. However we do not recommend using one of your Eurail travel days, unless you have a consecutive day Eurail pass, to ride on suburban trains. Use your Eurail pass for long trips; that way you get the most for your money.

Q #5: Why is a Eurail Pass the best way to backpack around Europe?

Traditionally college students that backpacked around Europe did it by hitchiking. Since this tradition began in the 60s and 70s hitchiking has become dangerous and taboo. A Eurail Pass is a much safer means of backpacking Europe, and it is also affordable!

Q #6: Where am I going to stay in Europe?

The best and least expensive places to stay in Europe are youth hostels. Hostels in Europe offer a variety of accomodations. Some have single, double and quadruple rooms, while other have huge dormitory style accomodation. They range from quite nice, to "it will do for a night". Most people in hostels are backpacking Europe too. You will meet a lot of interesting people from all over the world. For more information on hostels in Europe go to www.hostelseurope.com or the Backpacker.net's hostel index.

Q #7: How can find a travel partner to backpack Europe with me?

There are several ways to find travel partners. You can either fly straight to Europe and join others that are heading in the same direction as you or post messages in news groups like Google Groups and establish a rapport with someone before deciding whether or not to travel toghether. Other options include joining all inclusive youth tours offered by All Europe Rail. These tours range from 9 to 35 days to all areas of Europe. If you are interested in finding out more about these youth tours contact our travel team for more information at info@alleuroperail.com

Tips for Backpacking around Europe:

Tip # 1 - Take some cash with you but your best bet is to have an ATM or credit card while backpacking Europe. Banks and credit card companies get a better exchange rate. And if you loose all your cash it is gone, if you lose an ATM or credit card it is replaceable.

Tip # 2 - Nobody wants or expects something bad to happen while they are backpacking in Europe. Unfortunately sometimes these things to happen. We recommend that you buy Eurail Pass insurance for your Eurail Pass, and travel insurance for your other travel documents. Furthermore, make copies of all your important documents such as your passport, visas, credit card and ATM card and leave them at home with a relative so that the information is readily available should you need a replacement. If you can upload it to a secure website for storage that it is ultimately the best solution as it is only an internet cafe away.

Tip # 3 - Choose your travel partners will when you backpack Europe. Backpacking in Europe will be a truly wonderful, enlightening experience. Some will love it and some will hate it. You and your friend or best friends may get along famously in your familiar home setting but backpacking Europe is challenging and not everyone reacts the same. You will be in another country and have to deal with unfamiliar situations, and it is best to have a travel partner who handles impromptu situations in good humor, and always looks on the bright side of things. After all it is your European backpacking adventure and if you are in a difficult situation at the moment, we guarantee it will probably be something you will laugh about when you are home after your backpacking tour of Europe. Best of friends can become the worst of friends while you backpack Europe, so choose your travel partners wisely or consider going at it alone.

Tip # 4 - There is so much to see and do while you backpack Europe it is helpful to make some plans. You should always be flexible because while backpacking Europe you will undoubetdly meet people you would like to spend more time with and if you have an all inclusive Eurail Pass you can just hop on the train with your new friends for a new adventure backpacking around Europe. We highly recommend Let's Go Europe, the backpackers' bible to backpacking around Europe. During high season try to make reservations at youth hostels as early as you possibly can as during the summer it can be tough to find a place to sleep.

Tip # 5 - Before you leave to backpack Europe be sure to have all your student discount and youth hostel cards purchased in advance. You will waste a lot of time trying to get them done during your precious backpacking tour, so save yourself the time and the trouble get it all done before you go. For more information pick up Let's Go Europe, the backpacker's bible to backpacking around Europe.

A word:
I love travelling, holidays just sounds too expensive so i am planning either to take one year off after my Diploma before i do my degree to go Backpacking around Europe. If not, when i am doing my degree in Uk or Ireland i'll backpack then during my holidays. I guess i'll start from Europe then America then you know etc etc. I know its going to be interesting. I'm going to work and save up! For sure.. haha =)
I got all the tips and everything from the internet! I put it up for those who MIGHT be interested too. So you know you can read about it! hehe

a good reason

PROUD SISTER

Random person- Can i bring Caleb home?
Chloe- NO *shakes head*
Random person- Why?
Chloe- Chloe love Caleb

Jocelyn-AND THATS HER "REASON". I think its a pretty good one for a 2 year old.

KIDS

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
The most talented Kid i know, is Chloe's dearest "aunty Gaby" *says it HIGHPITCHLY just like how chloe says it* Yup, she does hip hop, cartwheel-cartwheel-lots of cartwheel and SPLIT!, blance on just both her hands. This kid is like the talent. She's so flexible that sometime i feel that i might break her.. LETS JUST SAY SHE"S BENDY and YUP SHE IS CHLOE"S AUNTY hahaha FAVOURITE AUNTY! Always looking for her in the most innocent way like "where? aunty gaby??" she'll ask at least everyy minute even after you tell her she's not here yet..

Yesterday in church Laurice was trying to teach Gabyy how to split on air and she even made gaby lift up one leg till it reaches her face. SEE, FLEXIBLE.. scarily flexible.. =) Its a gift! hahaha a nice one also.

The Future

As people get older, they get wiser-"supposedly"
Ever since i was little i've always wanted to GROW UP, as in i was so excited of getting old that i never realised that its actually happening so FAST! I feel that i have not accomplished enough. Its like being on a treadmill machine, the time just keeps going, it waits for no one. Its your choice to walk, jog and run. Obviously, if you run you'll eventually lose more than you Jog or walk.

It just struck me, that i need a plan for my life as i was writing the years it just felt like as if i was old already (i.e 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, etc) Look at the number of the year, DONT you feel it! I've been calculating alot lately, like what year will i finish my Degree or if i wanna do masters. When will i wanna get married, do i have time to travel... I feel weird thinking about these stuff but still, i kept thinking.

Time flies, so fast that no one can actually feel it at times. Like *BAM* one year passed. *BAM* I finish my o levels. *BAM* i come back from China (this year's holiday destination) and *BAM* I'm off to Australia. So this has taught me to appreciate time and everyone around me. Live everyday to the fullest. Dont waste it, money cannot buy time...

Next week, and my closest friend for like 12 years is leaving. See, 12 years just pass by like that...

Relieve

I'm so relieved that my exam's over but i;m not that sure whether i'll get any credit but i'm sure i'll pass them all.

=)

Let me tell you a story

After sitting for a quite hard Maths paper a 5 science nerd i never ever talk to came up to me and asked me:
"Hey did we sit for the same paper?"
and i was like "yea? why?"
then he said "Hard ah?"
and before i could say "ya its hard" He walked away.
I mean WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN BY THAT? looking down on me and my class I'll take you on One on One and kick the shit out of you!

HAHA. NERD!!! Thats why i hate them.
