WONDERING WHERE I'M AT?

I'M MOVED!

After such a long time, i am finally able to move on. Memories is what kept me here for the past 3 years, and I think a change would be good.

Site's still going to be open. Wanna dig my past? Here should be a good place!

Check her out!

So how many of you watches one tree hill season 5? If you do, then you should be able to recognize the person that I'm about to introduce. She's Mia- the singer that Peyton signed for her "record" company.

Well, i do love music but I don't really notice good tunes, esp from TV shows until almost the end of the show. One tree hill is NOT ending, but I received a myspace invite from Kate Voegele, i am not sure if its the real her but it should be cos many artist becomes famous from Myspace.

It was the typical, "I can see you are a fan of one tree hill, check out my tunes" and I did. I start noticing her and her songs on the show, and i really really like them. My kinda music, if you know what I mean. Her voice is awesome and she's really talented. I mean come on, a chick who plays the guitar, piano and sings. I am so inspired! I so wanna be able to that as well.. I am not sure if she has an album, but I think she does and I so want to buy it. So people, introducing to you KATE VOEGELE

Her popularity is going to boost, its only a matter of time! Her acting skills are pretty good as well. See, multi-talented and pretty! So, check her out!

Jocelyn Bong has a sickness

JOCELYN BONG HAS A NEW PHONE!!!
Thats right, you heard it right! I got a new phone.. Told you I have a sickness, I couldn't resist!
So I got a plan for 3 so every month I pay $49 and I get this phone for free after two years. I'm loving it! Did you know I walk out of the shop without spending a dime, not a dime! I walked out of the shop with a NEW PHONE! If you must know, i'm loving my "shake shake" phone.

And my old phone, not so old (7 months old?) is in Rehab. Well, I'm keeping it for Brunei use. HAHA I indeed have a sickness, I have never used a phone for more than a year, maybe I did but its only a little bit over a year.... Basically NEVER more than one year. I have been changing from one phone to another ever since I got my first phone. Ohhh! my first phone, Samsung. Brings back lots of memories. I actually hop from one brand to another and I finally settled at Sony Ericsson, my past 3 phones were Sony Ericsson. I love SONY!

Everyone is using Sony nowadays, i guess its "in". Nokia users are switching to Sony.

I love my phone because:

  • the trackID works, it actually tells you what song it is.
  • the internet works awesomely, just like i'm on a laptop, except I'm not.
  • I can find out where I am if I'm lost, there's a map. GPS, they call it.
  • it changes song when I shake.
  • its a slidey phone (my first slide phone).
  • I can watch TV on it.
  • It tells me the weather.
In conclusion, having a phone here is AWESOME. All the functions work!

What I miss and don't!

So, this is my third week in the land of Brissie, I don’t hate this place. To be honest, Brisbane is a great place- a great place to study, to shop, to walk around and etc.

BUT, I am still adapting. No one can get used to anything straight away, I guess it takes time. I have finally moved into my own house, slowly settling down and getting use to the everyday routine.

So what do I miss?

  • My car (not mine but I drive it so that makes it mine)

Travelling in busses is tiring. Three weeks of bus riding and I’m still not used to it. Oh man, four or more years of bus. As you know, I’m a super last minute person so I always miss the bus by a few minutes or less. It’s a Jocelyn thing I think, missing the damn bus. I’m too used to walking out of the house and into the car and drive out instead of getting out of the house, walk down the road to the bus stop and hop on the next bus that comes.

It takes about 45 minutes or more to get to campus during peak hour. Plus walks in between. At least five minutes of walk but that’s not so bad as getting back. I’m still not so familiar with the busses and stuff so I use the long way from campus to the city, then back to Taringa, where I stay. Instead of taking the normal bus to the central, I take the free shuttle to Garden’s point and then I make my way to the central, which takes me about 15 minutes or less if I walk fast enough

  • My new bunch of friends (and of course the old one’s as well)

Just hanging out with them is pretty much the entertainment of most of my days; there are new stories everyday and new jokes as well.

I miss the yamcha-ing, drinking, karaoke-ing, gambling , road trips, club hoping, playing basketball as well but knowing me, I’m lazy like half of the time and I always turn up one hour late, especially for basketball.

Then again, I have no friends here yet. But even if I did, I would still miss them lots. Seeing someone everyday, and suddenly not is a dramatic change.

And of course, my other friends as well

  • My mum

Even though I talk to her or sms her almost every single day but no doubt, I still miss her a lot.

I miss driving her out, talking to her (even though half of time she is not listening to me), arguing with her, the nags on how I don’t spend enough time with her (she doesn’t even LISTEN to me) and etc. HAHA I miss mommy!

  • The Brunei time

Everything seems faster here. Everyone walk fast here. OMG! I miss the slow Brunei and time seems to fly because surprisingly I have been here for almost three weeks already.

When I first arrived, I would purposely jet lag myself like instead of it being 10 I would convince myself its 8. But note, I only jet lag myself at night. I just don’t bother when its morning. All mornings seem the same to me. I hate mornings.

For the record, while EVERYONE is walking fast, I’m right behind- catching up! Walking slowly, taking my time (now, you know why I always miss the damn bus).

What I don’t miss?

  • The mall

Malls and shops here are way better. There are more selection in clothing and the quality and styles here are so much better. Now, you understand why I can’t stop shopping. After all I do need a new wardrobe, since I’m in a new setting.

Shopping is awesome here. If any of you decides to come visit Brisbane, ring me up or BEG for my number then ring me up. I wouldn’t mind taking you around that gives me more reason to shop.

  • My house
To be honest with everyone, I reckon the house here is better though it’s rented. It’s a town house, not a “small” house like what I thought. It has two bedrooms (for my brother and I) and the bedrooms are on the third floor, the kitchen and living room are on the second floor and the ground floor is the garage and laundry area. Did I mention, I have a HUGE veranda. It’s just awesome.

I know right, I have to walk up so many stairs everyday just to get to my room. It gets tiring but its good exercise, I guess. Visit brissie and you can come stay with me as well.
My room isn’t big but it’s quite spacious because I kind of rearranged my room to make it bigger. Obviously, my brother got the bigger room because he is “older” along with all the crap reasons he gave me. I don’t really mind my room, I kind of like it. Oh, the living room is sleep-able as well so you’ll be fine if you do drop by.
  • The weather

Brunei is freaking hot. It gets hot here as well but sometimes just for a short while. But if it does get hot here, the good thing is we can wear as little clothes as possible and not get stared at. It has four seasons here, its summer now but the weather is fairly good.

The weather here is dry. Unlike Brunei hot and humid, its hot and dry here. So yes, my whole face is dried up and I reckon I can peel off one layer of my skin. But besides that, I really like the weather here.

So, obviously what I miss is more than what I don’t. In conclusion, I MISS HOME. I reckon I’ll give it one more year, or until I make enough friends to take my mind off what I miss.

People here likes to use the word “reckon” so I’m trying to fit in, you know get the ball rolling. HAHA! Sorry for the sudden lack of updates, I just moved in like days ago and there was no Internet. Dude, everyone here communicate through Internet. I missed a meeting because I didn’t check my mails for like two days. That’s crazy. Finally, I got it! Life does not seem so meaningless after all.

I am in desperate need of printer. I have lots of notes to print out and lots of readings to do. Internet can be said to be my LIFE! Oh, what do I do if I didn’t have Internet? In class, I feel so dumb because I haven’t done any readings and printed out lectures or tutorial notes. I see a busy weekend for myself, just reading the craps and “understanding” them.

I switched to Mozilla firefox, I'm sorry if the wordings are screwed up, in terms of size. This sucks!

daughtry knows it!

"I was blown away (literally).
What could I say?
It all seemed to make sense.
You've taken away everything,
And I can't deal with that.
I try to see the good in life (here, in brissie),
But good things in life are hard to find..."

For now, this song is my inspiration. The lyrics really reflect me, not the same way it reflected him but in my own ways. As I learn last year in Media clas, yadaa yadaa yadaa.. I won't go much deeper into what I learn last year. Its a bore!

Sorry for the lack of upates, the internet at home ain't set up yet. Yea, i suffer. All i do at home is watch Tv shows, lots of TV shows.. and think of what I wanna blog about on Microsoft word and attempt to read my lecture notes, and textbooks.

As you know, I'm taking Education here and the education here is very different from where I come from so yes, EXTRA READINGS FOR ME. To make myself not feel so left out in class, I reckon thats the only solution for now. For the record if you must know, I made friends. Like a few, mostly white and one korean. They're quite nice i suppose but...

You know, i just notice how anti-social I am. Maybe its because I'm not from this country and I find it relatively hard to make friends.

Oh, I bought a new phone! You wanna know more about my new phone go google search on Sony Ericsson W990i and I'll detail it more on another post when I get my internet.

Yes, I have no internet yet. Still waiting, should be by today cos I received a "modem" early this morning. I'm now in Abby and Cassy's house, they are busy cooking dinner and i'm here, doing this. HAHA Oh, and I still can't stop shopping, but I'm learning "self control" if not I can say BYE BYE to food!

Love love
